Lance Cade Storyline

Lance Cade picked up a little bit of momentum this week. WWE now has to capitalize on it and build up his momentum.
The Big Moment
The biggest moment in Lance Cade's career occured on Raw this week.
The 10 year veteran was teamed up with JBL and Chris Jericho in a handicap tag team match against Shawn Michaels and Batista.
At the end of the main event, Lance Cade stood tall in victory, having pinned Shawn Michaels.
It was a moment that was a decade in the making. Lance Cade finally got a chance to pin the man that trained him.
It was also the moment where Lance Cade became relevant.
The Big Star
While the win was a huge moment for Lance Cade, a lot of wrestling fans have begun to overreact to it.
It's always a big deal to get an undercard wrestler to finally get a win over a main event wrestler, especially one that's destined to become a Hall of Famer some day.
However, that win doesn't make Lance Cade a certified big time player like some fans believe.
This isn't like Lance Cade picking up a clean victory in a singles match on pay per view.
With all this in mind, WWE really does need to sustain his momentum by continuing to make him relevant.
Sustaining Momentum
Clear and simple, if WWE does not do something next week to capitalize on Lance Cade's sudden burst of momentum, it will be a waste.
If the writers somehow forget about him by having him simply standing by Chris Jericho's side, then this win would have meant nothing at all.
Now, WWE doesn't necessarily have to put the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist to sustain his momentum.
You don't have to go that far. However, you do have to go somewhere.
If it was up to me, I'd book a main event singles match next week on Raw between Lance Cade and Shawn Michaels.
Have an opening promo from Lance Cade stating that he was able to pin his real life mentor's shoulders.
When the match actually happens, WWE can build up some heat for Chris Jericho by having him interfere in the match and helping Lance Cade pick up another win over Shawn Michaels.
Closing Thoughts
I still don't see main event potential in Lance Cade, but that doesn't mean that WWE shouldn't try pushing him towards it. |
