Big Backstage Battle
by Jack Windham
September 12, 2008
There's a big backstage battle brewing between two of the most powerful wrestlers in the entire WWE.
In One Corner...
There's Triple H.
The 12 time former world champion is basically a member of the McMahon family, having married Stephanie McMahon.
For years, he was one of the most hated wrestlers because wrestling fans had labelled him as someone whose success stemmed solely from backstage politics.
Triple H is one of the most talented overall performers (both on the mic and in the ring), but that has been overlooked by the man fans who focus solely on his negative image.
I'm not entirely sure which backstage stories are true or not, but there has to be some substance to it.
Nonetheless, it's safe to say that Triple H does have political powers backstage.
In the Other Corner...
There's the Undertaker.
While the Undertaker may not be married to anyone in the McMahon family, he does carry with him one of the more powerful political strokes in the history of WWE.
His powers come from the fact that he's been with the company for a very long time (which means that he's made Vince McMahon millions of dollars over the years).
He's also a legitimate bad ass.
When the Undertaker was doing the American Bad Ass gimmick, his character constantly talked about being the biggest and baddest dog in the yard.
That's not very far from the truth when it comes to his political powers backstage.
If there's a problem, the Undertaker will solve it.
Jump in the time machine and ask Shawn Michaels about the Undertaker and his taped fists.
The Big Battle
There's a big battle brewing backstage right now between the Undertaker and Triple H.
Several of the younger wrestlers feel that Triple H has been doing things to make the younger wrestlers look bad.
Since they know how much political power he carries, the younger wrestlers have taken upon themselves to go to the Undertaker for help.
According to reports, the Undertaker absolutely agrees with the younger wrestlers, and he's interested in resolving the situation.
Closing Thoughts
No one is going to get fired over the situation (nor will there be a big brawl), but it would sure as hell be interesting to see who Vince McMahon sides with. |
