Awesome Kong to WWE

Awesome Kong could become the next person to jump from TNA to WWE in a few weeks.

Contract Status

Within the next couple of weeks, the contracts of several of the top TNA stars are going to be expiring.

Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, and Team 3D are all set to become free agents soon if TNA doesn't give them another contract.

Most of the focus and attention from fans have been on those guys.

However, the biggest impact could come from Awesome Kong's potential switch.

Awesome Kong to WWE

It's not entirely out of the question for WWE to pursue Awesome Kong pretty heavily should she choose to depart TNA.

Prior to joining TNA last year, Awesome Kong had received a contract offer from WWE.

Despite not having the Playmate look that the company generally wants from their female wrestlers, Awesome Kong was pursued by WWE.

Of course, there were many that believed that WWE was simply pursuing her to keep her away from TNA.

Either way, Awesome Kong chose to sign with TNA and became one of the biggest reasons for the immense success of the Knockouts division.

Now that WWE has successfully lured away one of the key components (Gail Kim) of the Knockouts division, it wouldn't be difficult to imagine them going after the other component.

The big question is whether or not Awesome Kong feels that WWE would be able to utilize her correctly.

Deep down, she also has to know that one of the reason why WWE wants her is so that they can take down TNA a notch.

Possible Role

If Awesome Kong does decide to jump ship and join WWE, there's plenty of ways that she can be used.

With her gimmick, she would obviously have to be utilized as a monster heel.

Crowd favorites like Candice Michelle and Mickie James can both be used in a feud against the dominating Awesome Kong.

Since Gail Kim has joined the company as well, WWE can even try to replicate the success of the feud that she had with Awesome Kong in TNA.

If Awesome Kong does join the company, then WWE would finally have the storyline opportunity to turn Beth Phoenix into a babyface.

They can have Awesome Kong tearing through the divas until Beth Phoenix decides to step up to her.

Closing Thoughts

If Awesome Kong leaves TNA, then it's going to hurt the Knockouts division a lot more than losing Gail Kim.
