It's going to break a lot of wrestling fans' hearts to hear this, but the Rock is dead.
The Rock is Dead
Before you go into a frenzy, Dwayne Johnson is very much alive and healthy.
It's the Rock that's dead.
Or at least that's what the headlines are proclaiming in the new edition of Men's Journal magazine.
The article talks about the Rock's evolution over the last several years.
It also gives off the impression that the Rock will never be returning to the world of professional wrestling.
It Doesn't Matter!
Even with that headline, the millions and millions of the Rock's fans aren't going to believe it.
In fact, the Rock could gather up every single one of his fans in a field the size of North Dakota and proclaim that he'll never return to wrestling, and not a single soul would beleive him.
That shows you just how popular the Rock is with wrestling fans.
100 years from now, wrestling fans are going to have a hard time believing that he actually existed. They'll assume that someone as entertaining as the Rock could only be a myth.
Then again, 100 years from now, there's probably still going to be people who believe that the Rock will be returning to professional wrestling.
All it takes to get the internet wrestling community going is a rumor that the Rock is going to make an appearance.
Heel Turn
For every 100,000 wrestling fans who love the Rock, there's a wrestling fan out there who has turned on the Rock.
There's a growing percentage of wrestling fans who have turned their backs on the Rock for what they perceive as a lack of loyalty to the industry.
A lot of wrestling fans feel that the Rock should be giving back a lot more to the industry that helped launched his movie career.
Of course, there's also a handful of wrestlers that also feel that way as well.
Many feel that the Rock should make more frequent special guest appearances in WWE.
His loyal fans defend him by pointing out that he has an extremely busy schedule in Hollywood.
Truth is, if the Rock really wanted to make appearances in WWE, he can find the time.
The Rock is just choosing to separate himself from the wrestling business to establish more credibility in Hollywood.
Closing Thoughts
I could have splashed this page with "The Rock Will Never Come Back" in the biggest font possible, and people will still believe that he's going to come back. |
