Vince McMahon Endorses William Regal

by Jack Windham
May 6, 2008

In a clever move on Monday, Vince McMahon decided to surprise the audience by making an appearance and endorsing William Regal.

McMahon Endorses Regal

When word broke out over the weekend that Vince McMahon was going to be appearing on Monday Night Raw this week, most wrestling fans thought someone was being fired.

After his heinous act last week on Raw, William Regal was a hated man. His abuse of power gave him a ton of heel heat.

Many had expected Vince McMahon to show up and remove William Regal from his general manager position.

Of course, some of the fuel for that idea came from the fact that William Regal would be returning to the wrestling ring as an active wrestler.

Vince McMahon, though, has been known to change up plans if he feels that things are a bit too predictable.

More Heel Heat

By endorsing William Regal as general manager, Vince McMahon has effectively added even more heat to his most over heel at the moment.

Cutting off last week's main event title match allowed William Regal to surpass Randy Orton as the brand's top heel.

Fans were clamoring for William Regal to be removed from his general manager spot.

Now that they know that William Regal won't be getting fired, fans will have even more reasons to hate him.

For every evil act that he does now as general manager, fans know that Vince McMahon won't be coming in to fire him.

He's basically got the keys to be as evil as he wants to be.

Above the Law

This whole thing seems to be a setup for WWE to make Triple H into a bigger babyface than he already is.

Triple H has already feuded with Vince McMahon in the past.

The formula where a babyface fights against the evil boss has worked well for WWE.

However, it would be a bit dull to see Triple H and Vince McMahon feuding again.

Enter William Regal.

William Regal can now be used as a replacement for Vince McMahon in the "evil boss" storyline.

Backstage, Triple H has been a huge supporter of William Regal. In fact, he's the main person that convinced Vince McMahon to let William Regal win the King of the Ring.

A feud between William Regal and Triple H can be huge.

Closing Thoughts

Nice move by WWE to go against what most people were assuming.
