Rolling Stones magazine has responded to Ashley Massaro's denial on their story.
Recap
Here's a recap of this entire situation for those of you who have yet to read the many articles regarding the situation.
A couple of days ago, Rolling Stones magazine published a story that alleges that WWE diva Ashley Massaro once worked as a high price escort.
The article was written after the FBI provided information after they busted the Los Angeles based escort agency.
Ashley Massaro was quick to deny the allegations. She gave a quick response on her MySpace page, including a promise to pursue legal actions.
Rolling Stone Responds
Michelle Gigoiadis, who happens to be the editor of Rolling Stones magazine, responded to the denial.
When informed that this may be a case of mistaken identity, Michelle Gigoiadis firmly stated that she stands by her story.
She also stated that Ashley Massaro's name was listed in a federal search warrant in October of 2007.
Michelle Gigoiadis also acknowledged the rumors of another woman in Las Vegas with the same name.
The editor clearly states that she has no knowledge of the existence of the other woman.
The Other Woman
Rumor has it that there is a bikini model in Las Vegas, Nevada that has the same name as the WWE diva.
It's also rumored that the two have similar appearances.
Fans of Ashley Massaro who so badly want to believe that she's innocent have blindly accepted the fact that this other woman exists.
Thus far, there have been no concrete proof available online that she does exist.
Blind Loyalty
Over the last few days, I've taken a bit of heat from wrestling fans for even suggesting that this story might be true.
I understand being such a fanatic that you'll support a person no matter what. However, it's a bit foolish to be blindly loyal.
If I'm suggesting that it may be true, that's all there is to it. Don't misinterpret that as me wishing that this was true.
I personally hope that it's not true. I root against anything that will give professional wrestling a black eye.
Closing Thoughts
Now that Rolling Stones magazine has refused to back down from the story, it's up to Ashley Massaro and her lawyers to clear her name. |
