Judgment Day: Randy Orton vs Triple H
by Jack Windham
May 14, 2008
At Judgment Day, Randy Orton will challenge Triple H for the WWE Heavyweight Championship inside of a steel cage.
Randy Orton vs Triple H
WWE didn't do too good of a job of really explaining why the steel cage was necessary for this match.
Nonetheless, we're glad this match is going to be in a cage.
It makes it a bit more interesting to see because a regular match between Randy Orton and Triple H wasn't going to generate a ton of interest.
It's hard to dismiss the fact that Randy Orton is way better as a challenger than he is a champion.
His work in his feud has improved tremendously. It's almost as if something within kicks in when he's a challenger.
The storyline received a bit of a boost recently with William Regal playing a big part in the feud.
Randy Orton Wins
Right now, it's hard to see Randy Orton picking up the win and the title. It's not impossible, though.
The guy is just leaps and bounds better as a heel challenger. It's almost like night and day.
If Randy Orton won the WWE Heavyweight Championship back, there doesn't appear to be too many options for challengers.
Fans have already witnessed Randy Orton against John Cena, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.
Mr Kennedy recently turned into a babyface, but it's too soon for him to be challenging Randy Orton for the WWE title.
Plus, there's something inside me that makes me think that Randy Orton is headed to Smackdown soon to feud with the Undertaker.
Triple H Wins
With fresh heel challengers in JBL and William Regal being built up, it just seems likely that Triple H would continue his reign as WWE champion.
Ever since he became more of an evil dictator, William Regal has surpassed Randy Orton as the brand's top heel.
It would almost be a waste to not use him as a challenger for Triple H in the upcoming months.
To keep things unpredictable, though, WWE could possibly have Randy Orton picking up the title and dropping it back two weeks later to Triple H at One Night Stand.
Doing that, though, might get a lot of fans to turn on Triple H because it would seem like he was purposely padding his stats to beat Ric Flair's record.
Closing Thoughts
Triple H should be walking out of Judgment Day as the WWE Heavyweight Champion still.
