Jeff Hardy's Return

by Jack Windham
May 10, 2008

Jeff Hardy is on the verge of making his return to WWE after a drug suspension. Will the fans accept him with open arms?

Jeff Hardy's Return

As of this weekend, Jeff Hardy's 60 day drug suspension officially ended. He is now eligible to return to work.

Of course, WWE will probably test him again for drugs before giving him the green light to return.

Open Arms

One of the biggest questions about Jeff Hardy's return is whether or not the fans will accept him.

Jeff Hardy is always going to have a loyal fan base. There are fans that will support him regardless of what happens.

His fanatics are quite passionate about him. I should know, I felt their wrath a few months ago.

When Jeff Hardy was suspended for drugs for the first time, I reported it on WrestlingRevealed.com.

That did not sit well with his fans.

Since the first suspension occurred before WWE implemented their new policy of telling fans, it was easy to deny the truth.

When the 2nd suspension was publicly revealed by WWE, it became a lot harder to deny it.

Of course, the very same people that blasted me for reporting his first drug suspension have mysteriously disappeared.

So, yeah, these fans are going to accept him with open arms.

Backs Turned

There's also a group of wrestling fans that have turned their backs on Jeff Hardy.

These are the fans that supported him as WWE gave him the biggest push of his career.

These are also the fans that were terribly disappointed that he would ruin the push by doing drugs.

Push

It'll be interesting to see how much of a push WWE gives Jeff Hardy when he returns from drug suspension.

If WWE was still a privately held company, it'd be easy to push him because Vince McMahon would have no one to answer to.

The decision would have been easy because Jeff Hardy brings in a lot of money for the company.

However, WWE has to be extra careful nowadays. Push Jeff Hardy, and there's a fear that people will see it as pushing someone that abuses drugs.

In the end, though, it'll come down to being a financial decision. If Jeff Hardy can keep his head straight, he'll get pushed again.

Closing Thoughts

Things should be pretty interesting when Jeff Hardy makes his return here in a couple of days.
