WWE Draft Lottery 2007

With the WWE Draft Lottery coming up soon, we take a look back at last year's draft lottery and see how it worked out for each wrestler traded. The draft grade is determined by how much of an impact the wrestler had on the brand and how much momentum they gained by the move.

  ECW to Raw Grade
ecw sandman In one of the strangest moves ever, Sandman was sent over from ECW to Monday Night Raw. It didn't make sense then, and it doesn't make sense now that he's gone from the company.
F
ecw snitsky Snitsky was another guy that was being groomed in ECW with hopes of him becoming a main event heel on Monday Night Raw. Management would have settled for him being an upper midcard heel. Snitsky has absolutely no momentum. Fortunately, though, management realized this and stopped pushing him heavily.
D
bobby lashley Bobby Lashley was sent over to Monday Night Raw to give the brand another option as WWE Heavyweight Champion. The reason why he was in ECW in the first place was because they were grooming him to become the champion on Raw some day. Unfortunately, he got tired of the wrestling business and left the company.

  ECW to Smackdown
curt hawkins Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder were traded over from ECW to Smackdown. The move made a lot of sense at the time because ECW didn't have a tag team division. Putting them with Edge was a stroke of genius because that made them a lot more relevant than they would have normally been.

zack ryder For more on Zack Ryder, see Curt Hawkins.

hardcore holly Hardcore Holly didn't like being on ECW, so management decided to move him over to Smackdown. He never did wrestle for the brand because he was injured. Hardcore Holly eventually ended up on Monday Night Raw.
  Raw to ECW
john morrison John Morrison was moved to ECW so that he could be built up. Management gave him a new gimmick and the ECW Heavyweight Championship. Things were working out pretty good until they ruined his momentum by making him a tag team wrestler again.
B
big daddy v Big Daddy V was moved from Monday Night Raw to ECW. He was also given a brand new gimmick and a nice little push. The idea behind the move was to build him up as a monster in ECW and then moving him to Smackdown to become a main event heel. It hasn't worked out exactly as planned, though.
B
  Raw to Smackdown
wwe eugene Eugene was getting stale on Monday Night Raw, so management decided to move him over to Smackdown. He didn't last too long there before being fired for failing his 3rd drug test.
C
wwe victoria Victoria was sent over to Smackdown to provide veteran leadership in the women's division there. She didn't have much of a chance of being the WWE Women's Championship anyways, so the move was pretty good.
C
kenny dykstra Kenny Dykstra was moved from Monday Night Raw to Smackdown, and a lot of people were puzzled. Since ECW was supposed to become the place for younger wrestlers to developed, that would have been a better place to send Kenny Dykstra. He hasn't done much on Smackdown besides a lackluster feud with Chuck Palumbo.
D
ric flair Ric Flair was sent over to Smackdown despite not really wanting to leave Monday Night Raw. That was one of the reasons why he was upset and took some time off. Management realized the mistake they had made and put him back on Monday Night Raw (the website has always listed him as a Smackdown wrestler, though).
F
chris masters Chris Masters was basically lost in the shuffle on Monday Night Raw, so a switch over to Smackdown made sense. He had a better chance of moving up the ladder on Smackdown. Unfortunately, though, he got caught for drugs again, so WWE had no choice but to fire him.
B
torrie wilson Torrie Wilson just needed a change of scenery. Since she had absolutely no chance of being given the WWE Women's Championship, it wasn't a bad thing at all. Hopefully, she returns soon from her injury. When she does, WWE should seriously consider using her to elevate a midcard wrestler by being his valet.
C
great khali After being used to elevate John Cena on Monday Night Raw, the writers felt that it was time to send the Great Khali over to Smackdown. He's been bouncing around the brands for a while now, so it wasn't that big of a surprise. Of course, no one at the time would have predicted that he would go on to win the World Heavyweight Championship, though.
B
  Smackdown to ECW
ecw miz The Miz was one of the wrestlers that management wanted to move ECW for more developing. Things were looking pretty good for a while there as he moved his way up to the main event scene after a surprisingly good feud with Balls Mahoney. His momentum started to stall, though, once he was thrown in a random tag team with John Morrison.
B
chris benoit The plan for Chris Benoit was that he was going to be sent over to ECW to be one of the top stars on the brand. Plus, he was supposed to have been a mentor for the younger wrestlers. Unfortunately, though, his untimely death robbed the entire wrestling community of one of the best workers ever.
wwe boogeyman The Boogeyman was traded to ECW because he needed more developing. Plus, he has a character that really fits the Sci Fi Network. He's hardly been used in ECW, though, except for a brief feud with Big Daddy V.
C
  Smackdown to Raw
jillian hall Jillian Hall was sent over to Monday Night Raw from Smackdown. The move was a lateral move for her because she didn't really move up the ladder. WWE might have simply moved her over simply to appease the writers' desire to make fun of Brooke Hogan.
C
william regal William Regal was sent over from Smackdown to Monday Night Raw. At the time, it was believed that he was going to get a singles push as a heel. However, that didn't happen, and WWE decided to make him a general manager.
D
shawn daivari Daivari was moved from Smackdown to Monday Night Raw, and not too many people noticed or remembered. He was basically just a time filler for Heat. That's unfortunate that the company never found a good role for him once Mohammed Hassan left the company. He's really a talented worker.
C
brian kendrick Brian Kendrick and Paul London were moved over from Smackdown to Monday Night Raw to add some depth to the tag team division. With the tag team division not being a priority at all for the company, these two guys have been very poorly used (including being squashed by Triple H for no apparent reason after a match).
C
paul london For more on Paul London, see Brian Kendrick.
C
wwe mr kennedy Mr Kennedy was ready to become a star, so management wanted to move him over to Monday Night Raw. He was the Money in the Bank winner and was in line for a major push. Unfortunately, though, WWE had to change plans because of injuries and drugs.
B
booker t Booker T was brought over to Monday Night Raw so that he could have some fresh matchups. While Triple H was recovering from his injury, Booker T did a tremendous job of carrying the feud by himself (with a little help from Jerry Lawler). Now that he left WWE and went over to TNA, we'll never really know how far he could have gotten on Monday Night Raw.
