The Miz to Monday Night Raw

by Jack Windham
April 4, 2008

The Miz could be heading over to Monday Night Raw to become a midcard heel.

Miz Not Morrison

Management should definitely use the WWE Draft Lottery to split up the tag team of Miz and John Morrison.

The two started off as a pretty random tag team. They've developed some chemistry (especially on The Dirt Sheet, an online interview segment featuring the two).

However, both wrestlers would be better off as singles wrestler right now.

John Morrison had some credibility and momentum after he won the ECW Heavyweight Championship. However, a lot of that has been lost since he became a tag team wrestler again. He needs to be moved back to the singles division.

The Miz has never experienced the same credibility, but he has shown potential, especially when he was challenging CM Punk for the ECW Heavyweight Championship.

Moving him to the midcard level on Monday Night Raw as a singles heel could help to build some momentum for him.

Midcard Heel

As comfortable as he is on the mic, the Miz is not main event material right now.

On Monday Night Raw, he doesn't have to be. The show is extremely stacked. The Miz would only need to provide entertainment on the midcard level.

Being a midcard wrestler on Monday Night Raw isn't exactly a bad thing. It's definitely a step up from ECW. It also presents you with some opportunities to shine.

The Miz could gain valuable experience and exposure by working with the likes of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, and John Cena.

He's in no position to beat any of those guys in a feud right now. However, his credibility does go up simply by working programs with those guys.

Talk Show

If Carlito and Chris Jericho both go to Smackdown as rumored, there's going to be a void that needs to be filled.

There's going to be a position available for a talk show segment host. Carlito's Cabana and the Highlight Reel could possibly be replaced by the Miz's new talk show segment.

They can even have him do the Dirt Sheet segment but without John Morrison. If they really wanted to, they could have Santino Marella be the co-host of the show.

Giving him a talk show also enables the writer to build the Miz up without actually having him work matches.

Consdering how his mic skills are light years ahead of his in-ring skills, that's not necessarily a bad thing to do.

Closing Thoughts

It sounds like a step backwards, but moving the Miz to Monday Night Raw could actually be several steps forward in the long run.
