Smackdown Brand is Superior

After defeating Umaga at Wrestlemania 24, Batista has made a statement for his brand. However, if they don't use that in the next storyline, then the match was a waste.
Brand Superiority
The build up for this match was decent. It should have been a lot better.
When WCW died, wrestling fans who feel the need to root for one company over the other were left scratching their heads.
When WWE decided to split up the roster into two brands, that group of wrestling fans began to take sides.
Over the last few years, WWE has done a few interbrand matches and storylines. However, they haven't emphasized it nearly enough.
With a large amount of wrestling fans who like to root for one brand over another, WWE really needed to take more advantage of this.
They had an opportunity to create a lot of hype with the brand superiority match at Wrestlemania 24.
Real Rivalry
WWE was a bit lazy with the booking in the program between Umaga and Batista.
They basically just had a couple of sneak attacks where one guy went to the other guy's show.
What WWE should have done was really push the brand rivalry aspect of the feud. They should have made it really a Raw vs Smackdown theme.
Raw general manager William Regal should have sent one of his wrestlers over to Smackdown to challenge Batista. Smackdown general manager Theodore Long should have done the same on Raw.
Instant hype would have been generated by having a contract signing on Monday Night Raw between Umaga and Batista if it would have ended in a brawl between Smackdown and Raw superstars.
What Now?
Based on the first week of television shows after Wrestleamania 24, it appears as if the writers have forgotten about the brand superiority match.
Batista looks to be moving into a feud with Shawn Michaels. However, that has nothing to do with the brands. That storyline is basically Batista being upset with the Heartbreak Kid over retiring his mentor.
This feud itself doesn't necessarily need the brand superiority aspect to be included because the storyline already has potential.
What the writers should do is to use the brand superiority thing to enhance another feud.
Continue the brand wars by having the tag teams fighting for superiority.
