Can MVP Win Money in the Bank?

With Jeff Hardy out of the match now, MVP is as good of a candidate to win the Money in the Bank match as anyone else.
Keeping Him Strong
Management knows that MVP is a rising star right now.
He's constantly improving in the ring, and his mic skills are among the best in the business.
Management also knows that MVP needs to drop the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship to Matt Hardy so that the fans can go home happy.
However, they're going to have to come up with a way to have him drop the belt but keeps him strong.
The solution is to have him win the Money in the Bank match.
That way, both Matt Hardy and MVP come out of their feud (which needs to be completed after Wrestlemania) even stronger than before.
A storyline is a complete success when both wrestlers can come out stronger than when they were.
Elevating MVP
Right now, MVP is an upper mid card wrestler on Smackdown.
Winning the Money in the Bank match automatically makes him a main event wrestler.
With MVP's character being quite proficient at bragging, the suitcase would be a perfect prop for his promos.
He can come out on television each week bragging about how he's just waiting for the right moment to take his place in wrestling history.
MVP can even gain more heat by casually dismissing the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship. He can claim that he didn't want the belt any more.
Potential Opponents
Since MVP is a heel, the logical choice would be for him to face a babyface champion.
There's a good chance that the Undertaker will end up beating Edge at Wrestlemania 24 for the World Heavyweight Championship.
If he does that, then that automatically makes MVP a candidate for a pay per view title shot later on this year.
WWE can also try to do something interesting by having MVP challenge Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Granted, the writers usually avoid doing feuds between two heels, but we truly believe that Edge and MVP can make it work.
If done well, it might even make the audience support MVP a bit. Of course, WWE would have to have him turn on the audience again after the feud because he's doing so well as a heel right now.
Closing Thoughts
We wouldn't be the least bit disappointed if MVP were to win the Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania 24 this year. |
