Wrestlemania 24 - Money in the Bank |
As great as the King of the Ring tournament used to be, the Money in the Bank has proven to be a much better alternative in elevating a midcard wrestler into the main event scene.
It's also the match at Wrestlemania that has the most potential to steal the show.
Generally, WWE inserts a few midcard wrestlers who have the potential to move up to the main event. Then, they fill out the match with wrestlers who have the potential to create Wrestlemania Moments with high flying moves and hardcore moves.
This year's Money in the Bank is no exception.
Four of the participants have an equal chance of winning the thing (thanks to Jeff Hardy being suspended for drugs). None have much of an advantage over the others. Plus, WWE also made sure to put acrobatic guys like John Morrison and Shelton Benjamin into the match as well.
Don't be too surprised if this year's Money in the Bank match is the best one ever. |

MVP |
Chances |
 |
Everyone knows that MVP is going to be a future main event wrestler for WWE. He's one of the best talkers in the company, and he can perform pretty well in the ring.
He's lost a lot of momentum with Matt Hardy being injured, but he can easily regain that back, especially with a win in the Money in the Bank match.
MVP's character just seems like the perfect type to carry around the briefcase and boast about being able to choose when he becomes the next World Heavyweight Champion.
With Jeff Hardy suspended and removed from this match, MVP has as much of a chance at winning the match as anyone else involved. |

CM Punk |
Chances |
 |
There's talks that CM Punk is in line for a huge push over the next few months, especially with the WWE's new marketing campaign aimed at younger fans.
Winning the Money in the Bank match allows CM Punk to be able to leave ECW whenever the time is right. He'll definitely use the briefcase to challenge for either the World Heavyweight Championship or WWE Heavyweight Championship instead of the ECW Heavyweight Championship.
CM Punk can have himself a Wrestlemania Moment by doing a GTS off the ladder. That would hype up the audience and help raise awareness for him. |

Chris Jericho |
Chances |
 |
While he's still a great performer, Chris
Jericho's return hasn't been quite what most people expected it to be.
It's not entirely his fault, though. Fans just haven't been able to connect with him as much lately because none of the storylines that he's been thrown into have worked out that well.
The solution? Have him win the Money in the Bank match.
That would instantly give him credibility again. It would also allow him to be given another shot at the WWE Heavyweight Championship (perhaps against John Cena at Summerslam?) without just handing it to him. |

Mr Kennedy |
Chances |
 |
Mr Kennedy has won the Money in the Bank match before, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him winning it again.
WWE did have big plans for him last year when he won the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania 23. However, an injury prevented him from receiving that big push.
Even though Mr Kennedy made the company look bad last year with fabricated comments he made on national TV, WWE still likes him a lot. He's young, he's a great talker, and he's solid in the ring.
Having him win the Money in the Bank can help him regain some of that momentum that he's lost over the last year. Mr Kennedy is also a good potential matchup against either John Cena, Triple H or Edge for the title. |

John Morrison |
Chances |
 |
John Morrison had plenty of momentum last year when he was given a brand new gimmick and the ECW Heavyweight Championship. However, for some reason or another, management has decided to kill off some of that momentu by sticking him into a random tag team with the Miz.
The idea when WWE switched him over to ECW was to build him up again so that he could become a major player on Monday Night Raw or Smackdown. He's not at that point just yet, so he'll probably remain in ECW for a bit.
That leads us to believe that he won't be winning the Money in the Bank match since the winner usually challenges for either the WWE Heavyweight Championship or World Heavyweight Championship.
Of course, WWE could also pull off a swerve and give John Morrison the surprising win. That would increase his momentum quite a bit. However, it doesn't appear that likely to happen. |

Carlito |
Chances |
 |
A few months back, Carlito had informed WWE that he was leaving the company. He actually had his release papers in hand when management was able to convince him to stick around.
The reason why Carlito decided to stick around was because management promised him a nice push. Winning the Money in the Bank could provide Carlito's biggest push since he was the WWE United States Heavyweight Champion.
Of course, it's hard to see him winning such a high profile match right now because he's been stuck in a random tag team with Santino Marella. That tag team hasn't been able to build up any momentum whatsoever because the writers are constantly forgetting about their program. |

Shelton Benjamin |
Chances |
 |
Shelton Benjamin provides some of the most exciting matches in the entire WWE. However, that's all he does because management hasn't shown a commitment toward pushing him.
It's a pretty well known fact that Shelton Benjamin gets thrown into the Money in the Bank matches because he has the most potential to produce a Wrestlemania Moment with his acrobatic moves.
He was recently shifted over to ECW to make it easier for him to be built up, but that hasn't worked out all that well since he hasn't been placed into any meaningful feuds.
It'd be a pleasant surprise, though, to see him winning the briefcase and getting another shot at being in the main event spot. |
