Matt Hardy Attacks MVP at Wrestlemania 24

WWE has decided to continue one of their best feuds in recent history by having Matt Hardy make a surprise appearance at Wrestlemania 24 and attacking MVP.
In or Out?
The moment Matt Hardy was cleared to start wrestling again, WWE management knew they had a tough decision to make.
They knew that Matt Hardy was in the midst of an awesome feud with MVP. Regardless of what they did with him, they at least had to finish off the feud.
Plus, with Jeff Hardy being suspended for drugs, WWE knew that they needed to keep fans of the Hardys satisfied.
Management did not want to rush a WWE United States Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania 24.
The writers know that the title match between the two deserved a good build up instead of just being a last minute addition.
They also didn't want Matt Hardy's comeback to end in a loss.
So, the decision was made to put MVP into the Money in the Bank match. He would then be attacked by Matt Hardy to continue their feud.
Backlash
The Backlash pay per view has always been hyped as the show where conflicts from Wrestlemania are finally settled.
Well, the biggest conflict to come out of Wrestlemania 24 is the one between MVP and Matt Hardy.
The commentators mentioned that MVP cost Matt Hardy several months of his career as he climbed the ladder to attack his rival.
You can expect them to do an angle where MVP wants payback for Matt Hardy costing him a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
A match between the two at Backlash is the perfect way to settle things. The WWE United States Heavyweight Championship doesn't even need to be involved because the match already has enough heat behind it.
Of course, you always want to continue feuds that still have heat.
Matt Hardy can pick up the win at Backlash, which would give his comeback even more momentum.
Assistant general manager Theodore Long can then announce a match between the two at Judgment Day for the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship.
That would be the perfect place and setting for Matt Hardy to finally win his first major singles title (unless you consider the European title to be a major title, that is).
Closing Thoughts
So glad to see this feud being rekindled and given an opportunity to be closed properly. |
