Kofi Kingston Needs a Good Showing at Wrestlemania 24

In order to have a great rookie year, Kofi Kingston needs to have a great showing at Wrestlemania 24.

Know His Role

At the moment, Kofi Kingston hasn't been officially added to the Wrestlemania 24 card.

However, you can expect to see him in that battle royale to determine a new challenger for the ECW Heavyweight Championship.

Honorable Spot

It's hard enough getting a spot at Wrestlemania. It's even harder when you're a rookie who has only been around for a few months.

Just getting to wrestle in front of a huge Wrestlemania audience is an honor.

King Kofi

As of right now, there's no clear cut decision being given as to who will win the 24 man battle royale and face Chavo Guerrero for the title.

If WWE really wanted to give Kofi Kingston a huge push, then they'd have him win the battle royale.

Kofi Kingston can then go on to face Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Heavyweight Championship.

He doesn't necessarily need to win the belt at this time, but just being in the match would give him more than enough credibility with the fans.

More Likely

Chances are, though, Kofi Kingston won't be winning the royale rumble.

Of course, he doesn't need to.

He can still be given quite a bit of momentum by having a good showing in the battle royale itself.

If he can outlast the big monsters (Mark Henry, Great Khali, Big Daddy V, etc) in the match, then the fans will start giving him more respect.

Number Two

With that respect, Kofi Kingston can be elevated to the #2 babyface spot. It's a spot that's been needing to be filled for the longest time now.

ECW has struggled at times because the brand simply has to rely too much on CM Punk. There's no other babyface that they can elevate to the main event scene.

WWE has had to use Kane as a temporary solution in that spot. Sometimes, Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards are used as temporar solutions as well.

If ECW is going to improve things to earn themselves another television contract, then they're going to have to find a more permanent solution.

Closing Thoughts

Like we said, Wrestlemania 24 can be the boost that Kofi Kingston need in order to put him on the fast track to stardom.
