Steve Austin Calls Hulk Hogan "Bitter and Insecure"

by Jack Windham
March 20, 2008

A battle of words is brewing as Stone Cold Steve Austin has publicly called Hulk Hogan a "bitter insecure guy".

Shots Fired

Steve Austin was recently interviewed with the UK Sun, and this is what he had to say about Hulk Hogan.

"He’s just a bitter, insecure guy.

I give him all the credit in the world, because I’ve watched a lot of his career unfold and the Hulkamania thing was one of the biggest things ever.

But believe me I’ve been around the entertainment business since the back end of 1989, and if there’s one thing you’re going to find out it’s that if you’ve got thin skin you’re probably in the wrong business.

So there’s not a damn thing Hogan can say to rile me up or charge me up. I’m secure in the career that I’ve had and everything I did.

It makes me laugh when he’s got to do that, because I really think it makes him look like a chump."

Leave it to Stone Cold Steve Austin to say whatever's on his mind. That's always been one of his best qualities.

Retaliation

For the record, this isn't Steve Austin taking a random shot at Hulk Hogan.

While no one outside of the two is entire sure what was said, there is some friction between the two.

That's somewhat expected, though, since both guys have been considered as the best WWE wrestler ever.

Both guys were the leading superstar in their own eras. Hulk Hogan was king of the ring during the 1980s while Steve Austin did his thing during the 1990s.

Both Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan made tremendous money for Vince McMahon and for themselves.

With comparisons being thrown around all the time about the two, it wasn't going to be long before animosity started brewing between the two.

Hulk Hogan has said a few unkind words about Steve Austin in the past. This was just the Texas Rattlesnake taking shots back.

The Match

Mention dream matches and the majority of wrestling fans will list Steve Austin against Hulk Hogan.

With the friction between the two, it's unlikely that the match will ever happen. Then again, if Vince McMahon throws around enough money, it could still happen.

Closing Thoughts

Can't wait to see if Hulk Hogan will respond to this one.
