Crazy to me that in 2014 we are still making "news" out of an athlete saying they are gay. I guess it still the 1950's. #whocares— TAZ (@OfficialTAZ) February 10, 2014
After a couple of days of speculations, the contract between Jim Ross and Fox Sports has been finalized and signed. While his official role with the company has yet to be revealed, the long time WWE commentator has posted a new article about the Royal Rumble on their website.
"I honestly don't know. Nobody ever had that discussion with me. So to me, it's interesting. I just go out there and do the best I can. But I think that might have certainly played a part in it. And especially, man, that was awesome, seeing it. So, Titus ONeil, he had texted me. He said, 'Dude, if you're in your hotel room, you have to turn on SportsCenter. I think they'll replay it in probably about 15 minutes.' And he didn't tell me what it was, but he just told me that I was mentioned. And then I saw it, and they mentioned me and the whole Michigan State basketball thing doing the thing, and I was like wow. That's really cool. And the guy that actually started it, he's going to be coming to the show tonight with three of the guys from, I think, three of the guys from the football team. I don't know if that's true, or if it's just three of his buddies. But he is from the football team, so he's going to be coming. It'll be pretty neat to meet him."

Darren Young and Titus ONeil are down in Miami today, working on that rumored television show for the WWE Network. No word yet on what the show will be about, but the Prime Time Players are wearing suits on the set. There are talks that it could be a sports related show.
Jim Ross has revealed through Twitter that he is extremely close to finalizing a deal with FoxSports.com. The longtime WWE announcer has already started writing for their website, and while no further details have been released about the contract, it is believed that he will have a column online.
JBL is a pretty ambitious individual. The WWE commentator will be attempting to climb Mt Elbrus again in July. He had previous attempted the feat, but severe weather conditions in Russia forced him and his fellow climbers to give up on the trek before they made it to the peak.
In an interesting move, NFL AM had the Bella Twins on the show this morning, and the twin WWE divas discussed the Philadelphia Eagles.
"If I was in complete control of TNA, I would do anything, if WWE right now was going left; I would go right. And if they started going right; I would go left. So that's what I would do. I would try to be the complete opposite of WWE. That's just my opinion. I don't have millions invested. I don't make tons and tons of money as an upper management guy. I don't go in focus groups. I'm not part of that whole research team. I, this is just some blue-collared guy from Brooklyn that wrestled for a living that talks about wrestlers now giving you my opinion. Doesn't mean I'm right. I'm probably wrong. But that's just what I would do as a wrestling fan and a former wrestler; is try to be, look I think our show last night, it looked awesome."
- Taz discussing how he would run TNA if he was in charge backstage
Another person that has been gaining some power backstage in TNA is Taz. Aside from being the voice of Impact Wrestling, he also has been helping out with the creative department. Taz was also instrumental in the return of Tommy Dreamer to the front office.
Steve Austin revealed that he is interviewing TNA announcer Taz for an upcoming episode of his popular podcast series.
"....and I'm STILL NOT buying TNA nor would I ever want to affect the team of Mike Tenay and Taz. They have great chemistry and as I have said before they do a great job with what is provided them on their monitor."
Former ECW stars Lance Storm and Taz took to Twitter to make fun of unlikely TNA star Norv Fernum.
Since his contract only has a certain amount of dates on there, Taz was allowed to miss an episode of Impact Wrestling.
