With his contract status in limbo at the moment, Frankie Kazarian is heading over to Japan to work a match for the Great Muta and his new Wrestle-1 promotion. Kazarian will be teaming with Abyss, who is still under contract to TNA, in a tag team match against Muta and Tajiri, the former WWE star. The event will be taking place on May 4th.

It looks the business relationship between Alberto Del Rio and WWE has finally come to a close, as both sides released statements today informing their fans of that. The belief is that a settlement agreement has been made backstage. Del Rio will more than likely never pursue legal action against the company for firing him, while WWE is allowing him to work for any promotion in the world that he wants to.

Chavo Guerrero reportedly was given a major role backstage, and more details are now surfacing. The former WWE star is actually the one running the show behind the scenes. Earlier this month, the Great Muta promised to attack the Rock when the former WWE star visited Japan to promote his Hercules movie. Obviously, there was no real life friction, and Muta was simply stating that to help with promotion. The Japanese legend did show up at the event, teased tension with the Rock before shaking hands and posing for pictures together.

While the backstage heat between the two sides remains at a pretty high level, it does not appear that WWE will be giving a release to Rey Mysterio any time soon. Management has started to accept that the former world heavyweight champion will not be returning to work anytime soon, but they will not let him out of his contract to help another promotion out. WWE would rather just keep him on the sidelines for the time being, especially since Mysterio has reportedly stopped cashing in their checks.

While there has not been a ton of details revealed from the deal between New Japan Pro Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling, there are reports that have surfaced that Jeff Jarrett is looking to distribute content from the overseas promotion across the United States. His ability to do that would greatly increase if he were able to secure a national television deal, which he is rumored to have been working on over the past couple of months.

Thanks to an unfortunate car accident, Reby Sky was forced to pull out of a scheduled match this upcoming weekend for an independent wrestling promotion out in Maryland. The front passenger side of her Cadillac is pretty damaged. Reby also noted that she suffered some injuries during the incident. Rumors are still floating around that she will be joining her husband, Matt Hardy, in TNA soon.

One of the most beloved commentators in professional wrestling might be back with a big promotion in a couple of months. Jim Ross has been openly lobbying to work with New Japan in their efforts to spread into the United States. Ross specifically mentioned the big January 4 pay per view as an opportunity for the two sides to get together. If a deal is agreed upon, he would fly to Tokyo to call the action in English.

Looks like Jeff Jarrett has made a major stride in the formation of Global Force Wrestling. It has now been announced that the promotion will be doing a pay per view on January 4, 2015. Since he has a business relationship with New Japan, and they do their biggest pay per view event on that day, there are speculations that Jarrett could be promoting that show as a GFW branded event in the United States.

The two of them are established international stars, and management is not going to have them languishing in the developmental program. WWE knows that the promotion might upset some of the guys that have been in WWE NXT for a while, but it is a move that they want to do.

He stated that he has earned the right to dictate his own schedule and will go back whenever he is ready. RVD also stated that he will not work for another wrestling promotion until he returns to WWE.

As some of you already know, Chavo Guerrero is key backstage figure in that new Lucha Underground promotion that was recently launched. He is already receiving criticism for his work, as many people feel that the company is making a mistake by having high flying and quick paced performers slowing down to a manner similar to what WWE uses.

Generally, when you run a nationally known wrestling promotion, you try to lock down your performers to prevent them from being hurt elsewhere. TNA was doing that for a while, but Dixie Carter had to make some changes, in order to keep her company afloat. Performers are now given a bit more freedom to work on the independent wrestling circuit to compensate for the lower paying contracts.

The speculations were started when a picture surfaced online of the two of them, along with Karen Jarrett, hanging out together. Showing that there is life after WWE, Alberto Del Rio has announced that he will be doing a small world tour in the upcoming weeks. The former world heavyweight champion, who was recently given his release from WWE after a backstage incident, will be working shows in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico and Japan. The initial belief was that WWE would prevent Del Rio from working for another promotion for the next year.

In a rather interesting move, Tajiri turned heel during a Wrestle-1 event this week. The decision is noteworthy because he is still scheduled to team up with the Great Muta as a baby face team during Bound For Glory 2014 in a match against James Storm and Seiya Sanada. No word yet on how TNA will handle the situation, but it could just be avoided since most American fans are not regular viewers of Japanese wrestling.

In the first match, Samoa Joe, Low Ki and former WCW star Kaz Hayashi will be battling in a triple threat match for the X Division Championship. Seiya Sanada will be teaming with his new on screen mentor James Storm to take on his real life mentor Great Muta and Tajiri.

Tajiri still has some name value due to his stint in WWE, and he has a connection with characters like Rhyno, Bully Ray, Tommy Dreamer and Devon.
