News broke earlier this week that Jim Ross was going to be doing some acting, and some further details have been revealed by the longtime WWE commentator. Ross stated that he was playing an evil boss. He also joked that some might feel that is art imitating life. This is in reference to Ross' time as vice president of talent relations in WWE. Some performers had issues with his style of management.

While doing a podcast interview with Jim Ross, Kurt Angle discussed the topic of CM Punk and his departure from WWE earlier in the year. Angle stated that he was not aware of how injured Punk was until recently. Upon finding that out, Angle stated that he respected Punk's decision to leave, in order to preserve his health. Angle did also mention that Punk had issues with WWE over the booking and the direction of his character.

The former world heavyweight champion noted that his deal with TNA expires on September 21. Dixie Carter wants him to stick around and has put a new contract on the table. Angle revealed that he has yet to sign it because he wants to keep his options open. His next contract will be his last in wrestling, so he wants to see if WWE would be willing to give him a final run.

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Jim Ross had to spend a night in the hospital, as the former WWE commentator had a bit of a health scare and his wife wanted to be safer than sorry. Ross revealed that a couple of people contacted him at the hospital to check up on him. Jerry Lawler and Steve Austin were two of them. The other was Vince McMahon, which was a little bit surprising as there have been rumors floating around for the last year that there is some backstage heat between the two.

It stems from when they were working together in the XFL, the football league that Vince McMahon and WWE launched. According to Ross, Ventura wanted to be addressed only as "Governor Ventura". Ross told Ventura to kiss his ass instead.
