ALEX RILEY NOT BEING RELEASED
Since WWE was doing budget cuts left and right in order to reduce the millions of dollars that they're losing this year, several names were mentioned as possible candidates for a release. Alex Riley was once rumored to be someone on the chopping board, but it looks like the commentator has made the cut. Unless WWE decides to get rid of the kickoff shows, Riley should remain with the company.

Since he actually tried to trick ROH into hiring him immediately after his WWE release, it should come as a surprise to no one that Evan Bourne is now officially returning to the company later on this month when his 90 day non compete clause expires. ROH has officially announced his comeback at the September 27 television taping in West Virginia. No word yet on who his opponent will be.

When WWE was releasing employees left and right due to the forced budget cuts, there were several rumors floating around backstage. One of the stronger ones was that management would release Lilian Garcia and Tony Chimel. The idea was to replace them with someone younger and cheaper. Fortunately for the two of them, the release never took place, and they appear to be safe for the time being.

Showing that there is life after WWE, Alberto Del Rio has announced that he will be doing a small world tour in the upcoming weeks. The former world heavyweight champion, who was recently given his release from WWE after a backstage incident, will be working shows in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico and Japan. The initial belief was that WWE would prevent Del Rio from working for another promotion for the next year.

The reunion between Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez has been signed. The former WWE stars, both of whom were given a release within the past couple of weeks, will be doing a show in Puerto Rico together. The story line has already been placed in motion. Del Rio and Rodriguez will be aligned in a feud against Ray Gonzalez, and it looks like they will be portraying foreign heels.

It is no secret that Evan Bourne wants to work for a major wrestling promotion after being given a release from WWE. However, it is not happening in Mexico. The high flyer reportedly turned down a contract offer from AAA. There are rumors that his younger brother was offered a deal as well. The belief is that Bourne feels that the contract is too restrictive and not financially rewarding enough.

In regards to the release of ODB from TNA, reports are surfacing that the two sides are leaving on good terms. She was not released because of backstage heat or anything. In fact, her contract had expired, and management opted not to renew her deal at this time. The belief is that the two sides could come to an agreement down the line, but nothing is expected to happen until TNA can secure a new television deal.

When Yoshi Tatsu was given a release by WWE, he was devastated by it because he had been working so hard in developmental to get back to the main roster. However, he is not one to give up on a wrestling career. Reports have surfaced that he will be heading back overseas to sign a contract with New Japan after he finishes up his commitment on the independent circuit.

The hot rumors right now is that WWE is going to prevent Alberto Del Rio from working for another wrestling promotion in the United States for the next year. In exchange, the company will continue to pay him, even though he has been given a release. That has led fans to speculate as to how much money he will be given. The belief is that it will not be the full amount of the contract, as he will not be paid for working live events.

While management has seemingly given up on the Bo Dallas push, they do not appear to be in a rush to give him a release just yet. The belief is that WWE will keep him around for the time being and utilize him as a roster filler. Dallas is considered a good employee who shows up to work and does not cause trouble backstage. Another push seems to be out of the question, though.

During an interview with Primera Noticias, Alberto Del Rio revealed some details about his release from WWE. He stated that while Vince McMahon did admonish him, he was also told to go back to work. Del Rio found out the following day that he was then given a suspension. Shortly afterwards, Triple H called and told him that he was being fired instead of just suspended.

As expected, WWE has instructed their performers to remain silent if they are asked about the backstage incident that led to the release of Alberto Del Rio. When asked by the media, Sheamus explicitly stated that he knew nothing of the situation, even though most everyone in the company is aware of what happened. Management does not want to run the risk of starting a legal battle with Del Rio.

Aside from being able to focus more on his wrestling school, the former tag team champion has also announced that he is now engaged to his long time girlfriend.

As if he really needed it, Hulk Hogan has gained more leverage with WWE when it comes to capitalizing on his name value. The special edition of the upcoming WWE 2K15 with his face attached to it has reportedly been sold out at a lot of retailers, even though the release date is still several weeks away. Hogan has been quite the asset to the company over the last year, and he more than likely will continue to cash in big checks from WWE.

Apparently, there is a deal in place where the wrestlers are supposed to receive a portion of the money made from the WWE Network. No word yet on how big of a percentage that Vince McMahon is giving out. Unfortunately for the performers, though, no money is being paid out right now because the online service is losing a ton of money and forcing the company to release employees left and right.

Some further information is being leaked about the situation that caused Alberto Del Rio to be given a release by WWE. Cody Barbierri, the employee that was allegedly slapped by Del Rio, apparently has a history of saying derogatory things towards the wrestlers. Reports are surfacing that he has gotten away with things in the past because he is backed by Stephanie McMahon. This would explain why a good amount of wrestlers backed Del Rio when he left the company.

Booker T is running his first internet pay per view for his wrestling promotion, and Reality of Wrestling will have plenty of WWE presence there. Josh Mathews has signed on to help Booker do commentary for the evening, while Alex Riley will be making his return to the ring for a match. Theodore Long, who was recently released by WWE, will be on hand to act as the on screen general manager at the PPV.

A peculiar thing happened on Twitter recently. John Cena praised Alex Riley for his work on commentary when the latter made a reference to the Major League movie. While this would normally seem like something minor, it actually comes as a shock to those that believe the rumors that Cena was the reason why Riley lost his push. Last month, there were rumors that Alex Riley was contemplating a return to the ring, and it looks like that might be true. Over the weekend, he worked a live event match for WWE NXT, where Riley worked a triple threat main event match against Kalisto and Viktor. A lot of eyes will be on Riley to see if he wrestles more and gets another chance at the main roster.

There are rumors that it might actually take place in WWE, too. One of the ideas being tossed around backstage is for him to replace Antonio Cesaro in the Real Americans stable with Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger.

Accelerating his transition from professional wrestler to wrestling commentator, Tensai has started working on a new show for the WWE Network. He, Alex Riley and Booker T are working on a project right now, and the belief is that is will be a kickoff show for Monday Night Raw.
