The world is about to see if Dwayne Johnson can be a better producer and promoter than Vince McMahon. An official announcement has been jointly made by Seven Bucks Productions and Spike TV, and it states that Johnson and his team will be producing a show to entertain the troops that are overseas. It is called Rock the Troops, and it will be similar to Tribute to the Troops, except that instead of professional wrestlers, you get other celebrities.

Ring of Honor ratings

When the announcement was made that Ring of Honor was going to be broadcast on Destination America, a lot of the internet wrestling community assumed that there was going to be an immediate ratings war with TNA. Despite all the hype, ROH failed to even crack the top 100 cable television show for the evening. Joe Koff and company are already aware that they are running a replay, so most of their fans have already seen the episode.

Rusev injured at Smackdown

A big change might be needed for the Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber, as news has now leaked that Rusev was injured during the Smackdown taping on Tuesday. He worked a match against Ryback. The Bulgaria born wrestler was spotted in a wheelchair, while wearing a cast on his right leg and holding crutches. WWE has not made an official announcement in regards to the situation yet.

Samoa Joe signing with WWE

Reports have surfaced that Samoa Joe has signed a developmental contract with WWE. Terms of the deal are said to be for two years. The sum has not been disclosed, but the belief is that someone with the stature of Joe would be able to comment a bit more money that what the NXT performers normally get paid. The company has yet to confirm the signing, but they do not usually make an announcement on developmental signings.

The former WWE star has signed a contract with GFW during the second wave of roster announcements. The veteran performer has improved tremendously since he was a part of the Deuce and Domino tag team. He is heavily praised by those in the industry.

In order to give his new promotion as much of a boost as possible, Jeff Jarrett has been calling every single person in his black book. The latest name that he has signed to help GFW is Jim Duggan. An official announcement has been made that the legendary former WWE star will be taking part in an opening pitch ceremony. Duggan will also be meeting and greeting with the fans at these events. No word yet on his permanent role in the company.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Steve Austin teased that he had a couple of major announcements to make before the end of the month. He stated that they were so big that a large press conference will be required. Austin also stated that these deals were so big that he was forbidden from even mentioning any details about them. There are speculations that he could be joining GFW or TNA, but take that with a grain of salt for now.

Chael Sonnen is a good talker, loves professional wrestling and has name value from his career in UFC. Those three reasons are why expressed interest in signing him to a contract. However, the former MMA star has opted to join GFW instead. The announcement was made this morning that Sonnen would be joining the company and serving as an analyst. This deal has led to speculations that Global Force Wrestling is close to a television deal.

Daniel Bryan missing Extreme Rules

While a lot of fans were hoping that the rumors about Daniel Bryan being seriously injured were not true, WWE has now confirmed that the Intercontinental Champion will not be able to work Extreme Rules tonight. They posted an official announcement on the website, where they state that Bryan is not medically cleared. His scheduled opponent Wade Barrett will now work a match against Adrian Neville during the kickoff show.
