When asked by a fan through social media if he would be in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal at Wrestlemania 32 this year, Chris Jericho flat out stated that there was no chance in hell of that happening. The belief is that the former world heavyweight champion wants a regular match on the main card, preferably with someone younger and newer that he can put over. Jericho has a decent amount of backstage clout with WWE officials.

In a rather interesting bit of trivia, the last time that Hulk Hogan successfully defended the WWE Heavyweight Championship was at Wrestlemania 3 during his legendary match against Andre the Giant. Many are under the assumption that successful title defenses at the biggest pay per view of the year were a more frequent occurrence for Hogan but they're not.

At the next Wrestlemania, WWE originally had plans to unveil a statue for Hulk Hogan, much like they did for Andre the Giant previously. However, since the company has an unofficial policy of avoiding anything related to Hogan nowadays, that obviously will not be taking place. No word yet on whether or not the statue has already been created. Management still wants to do a statue unveil for someone at the pay per view.

In a rather interesting development, Scott Steiner has challenged Hulk Hogan to come to the Legends of Wrestling event on June 7, 2015 in New York. Steiner states that Hogan's biggest claim to fame is body slamming Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania decades ago. He is putting up a million dollars out of his own pocket to say that Hogan cannot body slam him now. Of course, Steiner also threatened to attack Hogan if he does show up in the ring.

There are those in WWE that are already second guessing the decision to have Big Show winning the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal at Wrestlemania. He has not exactly done much with the trophy since then. His feud with Roman Reigns would have worked out just fine without the thing being involved. Rumors have it that a main source of discontent about the situation is that it would have better served someone like Damien Sandow.

Many within the industry are now questioning the decision by WWE to not let Damien Sandow win the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal at Wrestlemania, especially now that it doesn't appear that they're doing anything special with Big Show. The belief is that Sandow would have had a ton of momentum going into his feud with Miz, and that would have brought even more attention from an audience that is already interested.

To promote the brand that he is currently in charge of, Triple H noted that all but one match at Wrestlemania featured someone that trained at NXT. Antonio Cesaro, Luke Harper, Seth Rollins, Paige, Rusev, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns and several WWE stars in the Andre the Giant battle royal all went through the developmental program. The only match that did not feature someone from there was the one between HHH and Sting.

Every single year, WWE spends a ton of hours planning out Wrestlemania, and every single year, something or another goes wrong. Management planned out the timing of the event, even going as far as removing the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal from the main card. However, that still did not prevent them from being forced to cut down the amount of time given to the main event. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns lost ten minutes or so.

In a match that was better scripted than the Royal Rumble, Big Show won the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal in the second and final match of the Wrestlemania kickoff show. Lots of excellent spots. Damien Sandow finally turned on Miz, but he was unable to overcome the Big Show to win the entire thing. Sandow was booked strong, but the audience was clearly disappointed when he was the last man eliminated.
