Alberto Del Rio putting over Kalisto

Twice now, Alberto Del Rio has proven that he is a team player by doing the right thing and using his former world heavyweight champion status to elevate Kalisto, a performer that WWE thinks can sell a lot of merchandise for them. Reports have surfaced that he might be doing it a third time at Fastlane by putting over the popular masked performer in a rematch for the United States Heavyweight Championship.

Kalisto at Royal Rumble

While there have been rumors about him receiving a push from WWE, Kalisto might shockingly be wrestling for a singles title at the Royal Rumble later on this month. Management is considering having the masked performer challenge Alberto Del Rio for the United States Heavyweight Championship at the pay per view. This would be the highest profile match for Kalisto since being called up to the main roster.

Swagger and Colter reunion

There are talks that Jack Swagger could be paired up with Zeb Colter again. Colter was separated from Alberto Del Rio when the front office realized that the MexAmerica story line had flopped horrendously. Do not expect a push for Swagger, though, because management still does not completely trust the former world heavyweight champion. WWE was forced to suspend him after an arrest.

Del Rio not dropping title

Since WWE will not allow Alberto Del Rio to return to Mexico to drop the Mega Championship, AAA officials have decided to simply strip him of the belt and do a tournament to crown a new champion. The former world heavyweight championship really wanted to do the right thing and honor tradition, but his contract would not allow it. AAA does not have any backstage heat towards Del Rio because they understand the situation.

WWE final four

As of now, WWE is planning on filling their world heavyweight championship tournament with performers who really do not stand a chance of advancing. The final four will more than likely be Roman Reigns, Alberto Del Rio, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens. Management may be leaning towards doing a match between Ambrose and Reigns since they have been building up their on screen friendship for several months now.

Jack Swagger not being used

Since Zeb Colter made his return and shockingly is now managing the returning Alberto Del Rio, all eyes are on Jack Swagger to see if WWE will be using him again. As of right now, nothing appears to be changing for Swagger. There are no plans to have him realign with Colter anytime soon. The last time that the world heavyweight champion wrestled on Monday Night Raw was back in June.

Del Rio back to AAA

One of the problems with Alberto Del Rio returning to WWE is that it left AAA in the cold. The promotion is aware that the former world heavyweight champion is booked for an upcoming tour of Europe and is scheduled for Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. However, they need him to return at least for a night, so that Del Rio can drop the AAA Mega Championship to another performer.
