When it comes to how promoters treat wrestlers down in Mexico, Alberto Del Rio was extremely candid and honest. He stated that guys like he and Rey Mysterio were treated fantastic by the promotions. However, those that do not generate as much publicity, they are not treated well enough by the promoters. Del Rio wants to see that change taking place in his home country.

When Lucha Underground confirmed that their promotion is staying alive because a second season has been approved by the network, they claimed that Alberto Del Rio has been confirmed to be a part of their show. The former world heavyweight champion took to social media to dispute that claim. The two sides are set to meet in the coming days. Negotiations should be taking place on a new contract.

When asked if he would be willing to fight CM Punk in a UFC match, Alberto Del Rio said he would if the offer was fair and right. However, that does not mean that there is any animosity between the two former WWE stars. They're just competitive guys who are on friendly terms.
