Back when he was in WWE, Alberto Del Rio used to wear a scarf to the ring. The reason for that is because Vince McMahon hated the fact that Chris Jericho wore scarves backstage all the time. McMahon feels that it is a feminine product to wear. Since he hated it so much, McMahon felt that the scarves would bring even further heat to the heel character that Del Rio was portraying.

The former world heavyweight champion was scheduled to work an independent wrestling show in Houston, where much of the proceeds would go towards a charity. He never showed up, and the promoters are claiming that he never even made contact with them to provide an explanation.

The promotion really wanted the former world heavyweight champion to come in and do a couple of fights. However, Del Rio was forced to reject their offer because the two sides could not come to terms on money. He stated that he was doing so well in professional wrestling that it would be a pay cut to jump to MMA.
