The speculations have been floating around for the past several weeks, but it is sounding more and more likely that Goldberg is going to be involved in a professional kickboxing match sometimes this year. He stated that he has been training since September and that GLORY Kickboxing has already expressed interest. This is the same promotion that tried to arrange for him to do an exhibition fight with Alberto Del Rio, who suffered an injury.

Since leaving WWE, it has been reported that one of the options for Alberto Del Rio was in mixed martial arts. We also know that Goldberg has dabbled in the field. Well, the former WCW star has revealed something rather interesting. He stated that he was offered a kickboxing fight with Del Rio on a card scheduled for May. The former world heavyweight champion seriously considered it before Del Rio suffered an injury.

Lucha Underground renewed

While it has not been confirmed yet, the belief is that Lucha Underground will be picked up for a second season by the El Rey network. Many feel that the arrival of Alberto Del Rio and the potential signing of Rey Mysterio has played a huge part in convincing executives at the network to give them more time. Their numbers were not initially all that impressive, but there is some hope since they now have big name stars to build around.

Del Rio still needs time to recover from the injury, so much of his upcoming matches will need to be canceled or postponed.

During a recent interview, Alberto Del Rio was asked about Ricardo Rodriguez. He stated that he would love for his friend to join him in Lucha Underground. Del Rio then took a jab at WWE by stating that he wants to see Rodriguez being utilized as a wrestler like he wants to be. He stated that it was not appropriate to portray Rodriguez as simple a servant because he has the talent and ability to be something much more than that.

Looks like the momentum that Alberto Del Rio had picked up over the last couple of months is about to take a hit. It has now been revealed that he has suffered a torn quad. The injury reportedly took place while he was working a match down in Mexico. Since he did not want to skip out on a scheduled appearance, Del Rio still flew to Connecticut this past weekend and worked a match. He teamed up with Matt Hardy to take on Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson.

During a recent interview with The Troy Show, Alberto Del Rio was asked about the claims made by CM Punk towards the WWE medical department. Del Rio stated that he never had any issues with them personally, but he also stated that Punk would not lie about such things. Del Rio knows Punk better than fans who have never been around him for an extended period of time. He also teased that Punk could potentially end up in Lucha Underground.
