Over the weekend, John Cena suffered some sort of eye injury while working a live event match against Randy Orton. While the extent of the injury was not immiately clear, it appears that it was severe enough to keep him off of Monday Night Raw. Cena did show up afterwards, though.
Big Show was noticeably missing from Monday Night Raw this week. WWE has given him some time off to heal from the hand injury that he suffered at a live event over the weekend. Management had Brock Lesnar attacking him during Royal Rumble 2014 to write him off of television.
Daniel Bryan made his injury return to the ring during a live event on Saturday night, where he worked a steel cage match against Bray Wyatt. WWE had kept Bryan from wrestling since he suffered his concussion, so that he can recover and work Royal Rumble 2014.
For those of you that are wonderinng where he has been lately, Santino Marella has been taken off the road by WWE because of a neck injury. The former Intercontinental Champion recently signed a contract extension with the company, despite opening up his own wrestling school.
Naomi Knight is being praised by people backstage in WWE for continuing with her match on Monday Night Raw, despite suffering an eye injury. She showed toughness by putting the fans and professionalism first by making sure that the match was finished.
While the backstage heat on Aksana has subsided over the last few months, some of it has returned this week, as a few people are blaming her for the eye injury that Naomi Knight suffered on Monday Night Raw this week, even though it was an accident.
Since the company wanted to sell the brutality of Brock Lesnar for his match against Big Show at Royal Rumble 2014, they had Mark Henry work an injury angle and take a couple of weeks off. It looks the former world champion is returning to WWE, possibly as soon as Monday Night Raw this week.
