New Japan is doing a show called Invasion Attack, and Styles will be defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Kota Ibushi. In a sign that he might not yet be ready to leave the country, AJ Styles was rewarded with another IWGP Heavyweight Championship reign by New Japan. At a recent event, he defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to recapture the belt. Tanahashi had defeated Styles last year to win the title. Styles and the Bullet Club are in line for a major push this year, as the promotion handed five championships to the heel stable in the very same night.

He stated that he has very few reasons for joining the company, as the schedule and the money are not favorable to the style of life that he wants to live. During a recent interview, a very candid AJ Styles revealed that he had been contacted several times by TNA about making a return to the promotion. While the former world heavyweight champion did not completely shut the door on the possibility down the line, he stated that he was not going to be making a return anytime soon because he has found a home in New Japan. The belief is that Styles is using this as leverage in future negotiations.
