AJ Styles

AJ Styles has backstage heat

Even though he has only been with WWE for less than a month, AJ Styles has already picked up some backstage heat. Even worse, the heat is with Vince McMahon himself. The CEO is upset with Styles because he signed a deal with a toy company prior to signing his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. This is the same company that signed Kevin Owens back when he was receiving his big push against John Cena last year.

New Japan pushing Kenny Omega

With AJ Styles signing with WWE soon, a door has been opened for Kenny Omega, as New Japan executives have chosen him for a big push. Management is going to make Omega the top singles star in their vastly popular Bullet Club stable. Kenny is the most likely choice to win the vacant IWGP Intercontinental Championship in a couple of weeks, where he is rumored to be facing Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event.

Tama Tonga

Tama Tongo status unclear

Members of the Bullet Club are making headlines left and right nowadays. While reports surfaced that stated that Tama Tonga has signed a contract extension with New Japan, the second generation wrestler himself took to social media to let everyone know that he is still a free agent without a deal. There were reports that Tonga was set to join AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows in signing with WWE.

Bullet Club

Bullet Club boots AJ Styles

Earlier in the month, Kenny Omega shocked New Japan fans when he turned on AJ Styles and effectively took over leadership of the Bullet Club stable. While some believe that was done because of his potential signing with WWE, the move was actually planned ahead of time. Management got the sense that Styles was going to be returning to the United States, so they wanted him to leave on a high note as a baby face with the fans.

Karl Anderson

Owens vs Nakamura

When asked about the four New Japan stars heading to WWE, Kevin Owens stated that he was most excited about wrestling against Shinsuke Nakamura. The two of them have wrestled one another once before. Always the heel, Owens made sure to mention that he was better than Nakamura, AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. The fact that he addressed the signings adds even more credibility to the rumors.

AJ Styles on WWE

For years, WWE was never willing to spend the money to bring in the ultra talented AJ Styles. Things have changed a bit now that they have found success by signing independent wrestlers. Styles mentioned during a recent interview that he would certainly be open to the idea of joining World Wrestling Entertainment if they were to put together a deal that really hard to resist.

Bullet Club in King of Trios

CHIKARA is doing another King of Trios event, and they have managed to pull off a bit of a coup by signing three of the most popular free agents on the independent wrestling circuit. AJ Styles, Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson will be competing in the tournament and representing the Bullet Club, their massively popular stable from New Japan. No word yet on who they will be facing first that night, but there is a very good chance they win it all.

Kevin Owens

AJ Styles to WWE

Despite the company showing more of a willingness to sign performers that have been in the industry for several years, there is still very little interest from WWE about signing AJ Styles and having him go through the NXT program. Some thought that the mentality backstage might change with the recent success of Kevin Owens, who has immediately captured the audience, but that has not been the case. Styles is said to be rather happy with New Japan.
