While there are rumors circulating that he is scheduled to join WWE and work the Royal Rumble this Sunday, AJ Styles still has other wrestling commitments to fulfill over the weekend. On Saturday night in Duluth, Georgia, the former world heavyweight champion will be making an appearance with ROH to do a farewell to Ring of Honor fans. That should be his final night with the company for quite some time.

However, it now appears that World Wrestling Entertainment officials have decided to utilize the former world heavyweight champion to create quite a buzz.

The fact that he addressed the signings adds even more credibility to the rumors.

It was earlier reported that AJ Styles was under contract with New Japan until the end of the year, which sparked the rumors that he was signing with WWE to join the NXT roster. However, new reports have now surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion is no longer under contract with NJPW. While he has indeed signed on to work more dates for the promotion, he will not be in New York City that night. The legend from Japan has already been booked on that date in England, where he will face AJ Styles in a dream match.

Since he is one of the biggest names in the industry, AJ Styles has long been rumored to be a candidate to join the GFW roster once the promotion starts touring. He has now acknowledged that there is a good amount of truth in those rumors. Styles stated in an interview that he will inevitably show up in Global Force Wrestling some day. It's just a matter of trying to find time in his busy schedule to make appearances for the promotion.

While Jeff Jarrett already had enough credibility and support in the industry, his pursuit of Eric Bischoff is going to increase the value of GFW. Together, they will be able to attract more of the top free agents to join their roster. Rumors were already floating around that guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian were already interested, but the addition of Bischoff might make them more inclined to sign a contract with a new company.
