During a recent interview, AJ Styles was asked about his feelings towards the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. He stated that New Japan does not like to call it a world title, but Styles states that he does take it across the globe with him and defends it everywhere. He also noted how prestigious the belt is by saying that all you have to do is go down the list of previous champions. You would find several legendary names on there.

While Jeff Jarrett already had enough credibility and support in the industry, his pursuit of Eric Bischoff is going to increase the value of GFW. Together, they will be able to attract more of the top free agents to join their roster. Rumors were already floating around that guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian were already interested, but the addition of Bischoff might make them more inclined to sign a contract with a new company.

In case you were wondering about the whereabouts of AJ Styles, the former TNA star is still doing rather well in Tokyo. New Japan is doing a show called Invasion Attack, and Styles will be defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Kota Ibushi. Many are expecting Styles to retain the belt because the front office generally does not like hot potato with their most prestigious belt.

Since word going around is that Samoa Joe is willing to go through the NXT program in order to get to the WWE main roster, some attention has been turned back to AJ Styles. Many want to know if he would be willing to do the same thing, especially since his friend is doing so. As of right now, that appears to be very unlikely, as the amount of money he would have to sacrifice by leaving New Japan for the developmental program would be quite steep.
